The Kelmarsh Country Show arrived at the stunning grounds of Kelmarsh Hall over the weekend, bringing warm summer sunshine and plenty of outdoor family fun and country inspired sports to this June’s event.
Set within the spectacular grounds of Kelmarsh Hall, the Kelmarsh Country Show is nestled right in the heart of the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire countryside and provides a stunning backdrop to the incredible countryside activities and championship events that take place there.
In the Realtree Main Arena this year there was a host of family displays to watch. From equestrian action with jousters, Knights of the North, to Britain’s longest established and leading dog display team, the Essex Dog Display, there was lots for families to watch and get involved in. The Realtree Main Arena also provided everything you needed to know about falconry, with Ye Olde Redtail, and had fast and fun sheep racing with the Lamb National.
Kelmarsh also hosted a brand new Countryside Arena this June, with visitors able to watch Bob Hogg’s Sheepdog display. racing action inside the Simulated Coursing tack and seasoned favourites, Hywel Morgan, Brian Brinded and falconry favourite Terry Large.
Taking place for the first time ever this June, Operations Director, Jerome Roberts says of Kelmarsh’s successful weekend: “We’re thrilled so many of you were able to join us at the weekend to welcome in Kelmarsh and to get involved in lots of family inspired activities and countryside sporting qualifiers. With many of the qualifiers now underway in the Chudleys Gundog Championships and Terrier and Lurcher events, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings. With the Lowther Show also just around the corner, we’re sure visitors and our sporting competitors will join us once more in the stunning grounds of Lowther Castle over 11th and 12th August!”
